5 Minute On-Page Tweaks
Whether you plan to run a “full blown” SEO campaign or you just want to ensure your site can be fully crawled and its relevancy for certain keywords is maximised, the work starts with improvements to your website itself.
This is what we call “on page optimization”, as opposed to “off page optimization”, which is more about building links to your site from other sites. But whether you plan to carry out off page optimisation or not, getting the on page right is well worth doing, particularly if the changes to be made are quick! Here are a few 5 minute tweaks that could well improve your on page optimisations.
Meta Titles
Changing your website’s Meta title doesn’t take long at all. Ensure you site’s main keywords are within the Meta title, in the very least on your home page. If you have a bit more time on your hands, however, it would be a worthwhile activity to go through your entire site and ensure the Meta titles of each page contain the terms most relevant to the applicable pages.
Meta Descriptions
As with the titles, the Meta description gives Google and other search engines a great indication as to what the pages on your website are about. Include your main keywords where possible.
Content Revisions
It’s actually surprisingly common to come across websites where the keywords and phrases relating to the site’s content are not even included within the text on that page. Go through yours and make sure you have included you relevant keywords. If not, see if you work them in naturally, without interrupting the natural flow and sound of the content on your site.
These could be considered “simple changes,” but for websites operating in areas with little competition, these change alone could actually notably improve rankings in Google and the other search engines. So it’s well worth investing a few minutes into doing this!
